- Presentation: “How GS1 Sunrise 2027 Could Transform Brand Protection”– Brand Alignment
- Summary: GS1 Sunrise 2027 marks the transition from traditional 1D barcodes to 2D barcodes capable of linking every product to rich digital information. This presentation explores how that shift could create new opportunities for brand protection. We'll discuss how digital identities may make counterfeiting more difficult, how stolen goods could be identified through product scans, and how parallel imports may become less attractive when consumers can instantly see market-specific information, warranty status, or other product details. Using real-world case studies, we'll also examine how customer scan data is already helping brands detect diversion and uncover supply chain insights. Rather than predicting the future, this session explores the possibilities created by GS1 Sunrise 2027 and how connected products could reshape the way brands approach counterfeiting, theft, grey market activity, and downstream supply chain visibility.

- Presentation: “Evolving Privacy Vectors” – Microsoft
- Summary: Piracy is evolving beyond traditional counterfeit and download models into more complex channels such as second-hand software markets, where resale rights may be misused or misrepresented. These scenarios create compliance challenges around license origin, transferability, and proof of lawful use, while also increasing risks for marketplaces, customers, and legitimate partners. Understanding and addressing these vectors is essential to protect customer security, strengthening digital trust, cybersecurity, and fair competition.
- Presented by: Sanja Timotijevic, Global Genuine Lead, Microsoft

- Presentation: “Building an Intelligence-Led Anticounterfeit Program” – Seagate
- Summary: Counterfeit threats today are rarely limited to obvious fake products. For many technology brands, the greater challenge is identifying genuine products that have been misrepresented, diverted, recertified without authorization, or reintroduced into the market as new. This session shares how Seagate rebuilt its anti-counterfeit program after traditional, reactive enforcement methods could no longer keep pace with global marketplace activity. Using a real-world case study, attendees will learn how AI-augmented marketplace monitoring, trade-data analysis, product authentication, investigations, and customs partnerships were integrated into a single intelligence-led enforcement model. The presentation highlights lessons learned, operational results, and global enforcement actions while providing a practical framework organizations can use to assess and strengthen their own anti-counterfeit programs.
- Presented by: Maggi Heyer, Regional Security Director, Seagate Technology
